Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026 · Last updated: 1 July 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Brute Squad Services ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the MarineStoreMate mobile application and web platform (together, the "Service"). MarineStoreMate is a ship inventory survey and inventory management platform for the maritime industry. By using the Service you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register or are invited to the Service we collect your first and last name, email address, company name, country, and optionally a mobile number. Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes.

Inventory and business data. Content you create while using the Service, such as survey projects, vessel names, inventory items, quantities, part numbers, barcodes, remarks, and item photographs.

Usage and audit data. We keep an audit history of actions performed in the Service (for example logins, item creation, label printing, and report generation) together with timestamps, to provide accountability and inventory traceability for your organisation.

Device data. Basic technical information required to operate the app, such as device type and operating system version. We do not collect precise location data.

2. Device Permissions We Request

Camera. Used only to scan barcode / QR code labels and to capture photos of inventory items when you choose to attach them. Images are stored with the related inventory item.

Bluetooth. Used only to connect to nearby Bluetooth label printers so you can print barcode labels. We do not use Bluetooth to track your location or nearby devices for any other purpose.

Storage / files. Used to save generated PDF and Excel reports on your device when you export them.

All permissions are requested only when the related feature is used, and the app continues to function if you decline permissions not needed for your workflow.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including offline synchronisation;
  • Authenticate users and secure accounts;
  • Enable collaboration between survey companies and shipping companies you invite;
  • Generate barcode labels, reports, and inventory histories;
  • Respond to support requests; and
  • Maintain audit records required by your organisation.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party advertising.

4. How Information Is Shared

Your inventory data is shared only with users of your own company account and with companies you explicitly invite to collaborate on a project or inventory. Platform administrators may access account records for support and service operation purposes.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests.

5. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored in secured cloud databases. Data in transit is protected with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Access to production systems is restricted. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we take commercially reasonable measures to protect your information.

When working offline onboard, data is stored locally on your device and synchronised to the cloud when connectivity is restored.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us at info@brutesquadservices.com. We will process verified deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or by your organisation's legitimate business records.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by professionals in the maritime industry and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country. Where this occurs, we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection consistent with this policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
